The Five Tenets of Taekwondo

At the heart of Taekwondo are its five tenets, or the codes of conduct. The tenets are identified as Courtesy, Integrity, Perseverance, Self-control and Indomitable Spirit. Grandmaster Smith and his staff at R.E.A.D.Y. Taekwondo emphasize these characteristics in the dojang, in the classroom and in everyday life. The results have been well documented with marked improvement in grades and attitude as well as a reduction in obesity and behavioral issues.

With a focus on self defense, fun and belonging, all in a positive and respectful atmosphere, R.E.A.D.Y. Taekwondo provides the motivation and focus that yield self-control and achievement in the participant’s life.

“I know that a lot of the kids I see here, if they weren’t here, I would be seeing them on the streets.”
“Taekwondo gives us a chance to do something together, outside of work. Plus, kicking is fun and gets out a lot of stress.”
